
(KNOX) – The Kennedy Bridge in Grand Forks was closed for a while Sunday afternoon into the evening due to an emergency.
According to the Grand Fork Police Department the bridge was closed around 5:44 Sunday afternoon. The bridge reopened a few hours later.
The Grand Forks Regional SWAT team, Crisis Negotiations team, and Unmanned Aerial Systems team were activated to assist on the call due to the public nature of the incident and potential high risk to the public
The Kennedy Bridge is on Route 2 and goes over the Red River and into East Grand Forks.
Grand Forks and East Grand Forks Police were on the scene.
