Grand Forks City Council Gets Update on Athletic Center

(KNOX) -Grand Forks City Council got an update on the proposed athletic center. City Administrator Todd Feland told council that they would have plans before them soon.

“They’ll get it out to the various folks who are working on it, just to do some final edits,” Feland said this week during his update to city council.

Feland said that they are working with a diagram of the project.

“And with that schematic design, importantly we are working with our construction manager on the estimate itself,” said Feland.

Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Bochenski said that city council will have the final say on the project.

“Ultimately, city council will be making all the decisions. I think they are trying to line-up what those decisions are,” Bochenski said.

Feland said the hope is to have the final plans for approval by city council sometime in about two months.

“We’re targeting a date in October where the city council would approve the project moving forward,” Feland said.
