(KNOX) – The Cities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks have scheduled a citywide spray for mosquitoes between 8 p.m. Thursday and 1 a.m. Friday.
West Nile virus has been identified in the region… and the cities urge citizens to take extra precautions to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.
• Use insect repellent that contains DEET.
• Limit outdoor activities between dusk and dawn.
• Wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts when possible.
• Eliminate standing water in buckets, flowerpots, old tires, wading pools and birdbaths).
Winds higher than 10 miles per hour or inclement weather may suspend the spraying.
