The former El Roco Lounge at the corner of Washington and Gateway will be taking on a new look. The Grand Forks council gave preliminary approval to a request by developers for a five-year property tax exemption to convert the property into commercial storefronts – and restaurant space. Community Development Planner Andy Conlon says the project fits within the city’s recently expanded Ren-Zone corridor.
When completed the parcel will have a post-construction value of $2.15 million dollars.
