The East Grand Forks Fire Department responded to a fire at the Minnesota Grain Pearling at 316 5th Ave NE around 2:00 p.m. When crews arrived they found smoke coming out the back garage door and the top of the five story building. The business was unoccupied. Firefighters found the origin of the fire on the main floor and extinguished it within 10 minutes. The cause is likely an electric motor that overheated and started the wood floor underneath it on fire. The fire department responded with three engines and an aerial with 25 personnel. East Grand Forks Police Department and Altru Ambulance assisted on scene. There was no injuries to citizens or firefighters.
