(KNOX) – North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum has been told he will not be Former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate.
The official Republican Presidential Nominee says Ohio Senator J.D. Vance will be his running mate.
Vance is a 39-year-old Republican born and raised in Middletown, Ohio. After serving with the Marines in Iraq, Vance earned degrees at the Ohio State University and Yale Law School. He also worked as a venture capitalist in Silicon Valley.
He was elected to the Senate in 2021. Before Vance met Trump, he called him dangerous and unfit for office.
Vance, Trump said, “will be strongly focused on American workers and farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond.”
Several of those Midwestern states are expected to play a critical role in November’s election.

In a post on X, Burgum wrote “I look forward to campaigning for the Trump-Vance ticket to make America Great Again!”
