(KNOX) – A survey about Grand Forks County’s multi-hazard mitigation plan is still available for the public to take after it was extended from its August 30th deadline.
The survey asks residents questions about natural hazards and man made threats. There were fewer responses than anticipated and the deadline to fill out the form has been extended for a few more months.
County Administrator Tom Ford says publishing the survey was also delayed because there was uncertainty earlier in the year if federal grants would be provided to help fund the study.
The county is required to update its hazard mitigation plan in order to receive funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The survey can be filled out online on the city of Grand Forks website. There are also physical copies available in the Grand Forks County Office Building lobby.
