UND Football Player Avery Scott Receives Extension Of Temporary Restraining Order In NCAA Eligibility Case

(KNOX) – UND Football Player Avery Scott has received an extension of a temporary restraining order by Grand Forks County District Court, as he pursues a fifth season of NCAA eligibility.

The extension was granted at a preliminary injunction hearing Thursday, and it allows him to continue playing with the Fighting Hawks this season. 

Jonnie Wiltshire will have his hearing October 1st, and Jy Martin received a temporary restraining order Monday. Martin’s hearing has not been announced yet. 

The restraining order relates to the Wisne vs. NCAA ruling from July, which gave an injunction that lasted for a few weeks, before the NCAA won an appeal in the 10th circuit. The Wisne ruling said that all Class of 2022 High School Athletes who used all of the NCAA eligibility in four years can play a fifth season in 2026.
