(KNOX) – A five-set battle led to a Fargo North rally to edge Grand Forks Central 3-2 (21-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-18, 15-13) Tuesday night at Central High in Grand Forks.
Marley Uhlir finished with 15 kills to lead Central, with Alex Gowan adding 14, in unofficial numbers. Central had the biggest lead of any set at 22-14 in the third.
North, playing without leading middle hitter Anna Halvorson, responded with Lila Pladson knocking down 12 kills. Adley Matter had four kills in the fourth set, waiting to enter at that point in the contest, a spark that rallied the Spartans.
Central is now 0-2 in EDC play, and faces Grand Forks Red River at home Thursday.
