(KNOX) –Roughly six garages were damaged because of a fire at an apartment complex in Grand Forks from lightning strikes. The incident happened Thursday afternoon at the corner of South Washington Street and 55th Avenue South
The fire was reported at 2:19 pm and it was put out 16 minutes later by the Grand Forks Fire Department
A firefighter was hurt during the response and was treated at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The complex units were not damaged, as the garage’s firewall prevented the fire from spreading.
Two of the garages had vehicles in them when the fire happened, and it’s unclear if they were damaged.
