(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Royals will take their shot at a top three finish in the statewide league standings tonight in Minot.
Grand Forks visits the Vistas tonight, taking a 9-7 record on the road after four league wins last week, sweeping the Bismarck Governors and Fargo Post 400 Stars. Both wins over Bismarck were in extra innings, and the Royals won the four games by a combined five runs.
The Royals are in fourth place to start the night, a game back of Mandan. Grand Forks would have a run differential tiebreaker with the Chiefs if they finished tied. Mandan finishes with second-place West Fargo.
Minot enters the night tied with Bismarck for fifth place, and both teams are just a game back of Grand Forks for fourth place.
Grand Forks cannot finish lower than sixth. They are two games ahead of Post 400 and hold the tiebreaker over the Stars.
State tournament play is next week in Fargo.
