(KNOX) –A man from Hope was seriously hurt when the motorcycle he was driving went off of Highway 200 and rolled into a ditch 11 miles east of Cooperstown.
The crash happened Tuesday morning at around 2:50 a.m. near mile marker 352. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle went off the road and along the shoulder before going into the ditch. When entering the ditch, it rolled over and threw the driver off the motorcycle .
The 33-year-old man was not wearing a helmet. He was first taken to a Mayville hospital and then flown to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with serious injuries.
The driver is also facing a DUI charge and the crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
