Minnesota DNR Announces New Burning Restrictions In Several Counties

(KNOX) – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources started enforcing level IV burning restrictions yesterday afternoon in Cook, Koochiching, Lake, and  North St. Louis counties. There are also restrictions in parts of the George Washington State Forest and Scenic State Park in Itasca County. DNR Agency Administrator Curt Westerman explains what level four restrictions mean. 

The restrictions will be in effect until they are lifted by the DNR commissioner. There are currently at least 25 wildfires across Minnesota and more than 70,000 acres have been burned.
