(KNOX) – The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety says there have been at least 37 motorcycle fatalities this year on Minnesota roads. That’s an increase from 24 last year at this time.
Traffic Safety Director Mike Hanson says 2026 is on pace for around 90 fatalities and that Minnesota has not had these kinds of numbers since the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.
Hanson says half of all the fatal accidents are because of the motor vehicle driver, and the other half can be blamed on motorcyclists.
