(KNOX) -A 30-year-old Wahpeton man is facing several charges, as he’s accused of fighting with officers and breaking a squad car window while being arrested for DUI.
A Wahpeton Police report says officers pulled over a pickup truck before 8 p.m. last Saturday. Officers tried to arrest Leonardo Zubiate after finding open bottles of alcohol in his vehicle.
As police were trying to arrest him, Zubiate kicked and hit one officer, and then spat on another. He was brought to the ground, where he kicked a squad car. He was eventually put into the squad car. He kicked out a back window on the way to jail, and then he continued to fight with officers when he spat on another, and made threats.
Zubiate is charged with preventing arrest, assaulting officers, DUI, and driving with a suspended license.
