
(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Spitfires lost a slugfest with the Mankato Habaneros 16-12 Monday night at Albrecht Field.
Ten runs were scored in the first inning, with the Spitfires leading 6-4 after one. The game was tied at 10-10 after the top of the third. The three hour, two minute marathon featured 27 hits and four errors.
Ally Hetzel led the Spitfires offense, finishing 2-4 with a double, a run and three RBI.
The Spitfires face Mankato tonight at 7:05 PM at Albrecht Field in Grand Forks.
