(KNOX) – BISMARCK – Coiya Tompkins Inman, president/CEO at the Community Violence Intervention Center (CVIC), is this year’s recipient of the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations’ (NDANO) Walt Odegaard Leadership Award.
The organization says that Tompkins Inmans leadership has made a measurable impact across the state. Through her volunteer work with the ND Domestic and Sexual Violence Coalition, state funding increased from $3.17 million in 2022 to nearly $12 million in 2025 through the Department of Health & Human Services, with additional investment from the Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation bringing the total closer to $19 million.
The organization also recognized CVICs work in classrooms around the state, with prevention education, making North Dakota a leader in long-term approaches to ending interpersonal violence.
NDANO will present the 2026 North Dakota Nonprofits Awards during a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. CT on June 4 in the 4-H Hall at the State Fair Center in Minot.
