(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Air Force Base will be adding another program.

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., announced the program Thursday.  The program will test advanced counter-unmanned aircraft systems.

According to a release from Cramer’s office, the technology is designed to “detect, disable and destroy hostile drones,” according to the release.

Cramer is chairman of the Senate Armed Services Airland Subcommittee.  GFAFB will be one of four sites around the country to test the technology.
