(UND Sports Information) – GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota head hockey coach Dane Jackson announced on Wednesday that Minot, N.D., native and former Arizona State defenseman Brasen Boser (pronounced BRAY-zin, BO-ZER) has signed an agreement to join the UND hockey program. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
“We are excited to add a reliable, two-way defender like Brasen to our roster,” said Jackson. “His abilities to efficiently move a puck as well as be a strong penalty killer were the things that we felt addressed a need for us.”
Boser spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Arizona State, where he emerged as a solid, shutdown defender for the Sun Devils. He appeared in 67 games and posted identical stat lines of two goals and five assists over each of his two seasons while tallying a plus-3 rating.
On the defensive side, Boser blocked 136 shots over his two campaigns, including a team-high 76 in 2025-26 while also pacing the squad with 22:40 of ice time. His 76 blocked shots were second in the NCHC and paced the conference with 2.53 blocks per game.
Boser is no stranger to playing for a team in his home state, as the Minot, N.D., native captured the USHL Clark Cup with Fargo alongside current Fighting Hawk Mac Swanson. He will also become the first UND hockey player from Minot since Quinn Fylling (2000-01, 2002-05).
He will be introduced to the media at a later date.
