(KNOX) – Red River remained perfect this season, despite a game effort by Fargo South Tuesday night.
The Riders pulled away for a 5-0 win over the Bruins at Cushman Field, scoring three goals after 60 minutes, two in the final six, to earn their third league win of the season. Red River is now 4-0 overall.
The matchup was just 1-0 after a half, as South’s goalkeeper, Jaydn Eggert, made a handful of tight saves, while Red River missed some opportunities in front of the net.
Alexia Giannopoulos set up the lone first-half goal with a header that found Taylor Hodny in the 22nd minute.
Giannopoulos would later score the second goal of the match, enduring a night of near misses for the Rider sophomore, pushing the lead to 2-0 in the 56th minute.
Lily Cameron would score later, followed by goals from Peighton Devlin and Ada Asogwa to cap the scoring.
Red River heads to Fargo Davies Thursday.
