(KNOX) – A Crookston man was sentenced to 12 years for committing a first-degree sex crime against a child who was under the age of 13.
Thomas Amiot, 82, was granted the minimum sentence required for the first-degree felony offense, which he pleaded guilty to in December.
Court documents says that in 2012 and 2013 Amiot engaged in sexual conduct with a boy who was under age.
According to the Minnesota Department of Corrections in Amiot’s case he could be released after eight years, when he is 90 years old. Amiot’s anticipated release date would be March 28, 2034.
