(KNOX) – Tuesday afternoon officers from the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of 32nd Avenue South and South 31st Street for the report of a three vehicle accident involving injuries.
An investigation revealed that a 2022 Kia Sportage had been travelling eastbound on 32nd Avenue South when a westbound 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee began making a southbound turn onto South 31st Street and was struck by the Kia.
After the Kia and the Jeep collided, the Jeep slid and collided with a stopped 2027 Kia Telluride that was facing northbound on South 31 Street, waiting to turn eastbound onto 32nd Avenue South.
The driver of the Kia, a 41-year-old woman from Grand Forks was taken to the hospital by ambulance with incapacitating, but non-life threatening injuries. There were three juvenile passengers in this vehicle. None of them were injured.
The driver of the Jeep, a 47-year-old Grafton woman, was cited for failure to yield. She was uninjured. The driver of the Kia, a 35-year-old Grand Forks woman, was uninjured.
