(KNOX) – At approximately 6:07 PM on Friday the Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched to 1110 Stanford Road #103 for a report of a structure fire.
Fire crews arrived on scene and encountered heavy smoke throughout the main floor of the building. Crews located the unit involved and quickly extinguished the fire, confining it to the kitchen.
The rest of the building was thoroughly ventilated. Crews overhauled the area involved and the property was released back to property management. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with 5 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, and a Command vehicle; with 17 personnel total. The lone occupant of the unit has been displaced and relocated.
There were no injuries to the occupant or fire service personnel. Grand Forks Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Grand Forks Police Department, Altru Ambulance, and building maintenance.
