Bomb Threat Reported at Capitol

(North Dakota Monitor) – A bomb threat was reported at the Capitol in Bismarck on Sunday night, according to the North Dakota State Patrol.

At 9:52 p.m., Bismarck Central Dispatch received a call stating a bomb had been placed inside the building. Members of the Bismarck Bomb Squad, alongside State Patrol, police and fire units, responded to the Capitol and searched the building, the State Patrol said. No bomb was found.

During the search, law enforcement set up a perimeter around the Capitol Grounds and deployed a drone to search the immediate area surrounding the building. No threat was found.

The State Patrol also reported reviewing video surveillance footage, no threat was observed and the building was cleared for reentry shortly before midnight.
