UND Alumni Association and Foundation CEO Honored With National Award

(KNOX) – The University of North Dakota Alumni Association & Foundation (UNDAAF) Chief Executive Officer, has been named a 2026 recipient of the prestigious CASE Common fund College and University Foundation Award.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) award recognizes DeAnna Carlson Zink who has made extraordinary contributions to the advancement, quality, and effectiveness of their foundations. The award is underwritten by the Common fund Institute, which provides investment management services to nonprofit organizations and other institutions. Carlson Zink has led the UNDAAF since 2014 and has worked for the organization for more than 35 years.

“I am deeply honored to receive the 2026 CASE Common Fund College and University Foundation Award,” Carlson Zink said. This work is truly an honor, to partner with generous alumni and friends, bring their passions to life, and help create a brighter future for UND students. I am grateful for the relationships and shared purpose that have shaped this journey.”

Under Carlson Zink’s leadership, the UNDAAF has seen significant fundraising success. In 2025, she led Forever UND: The Campaign for the University of North Dakota to exceed its initial $500 million goal 20 months ahead of schedule, subsequently championing an increased target of $625 million. She has also overseen two consecutive record-breaking fundraising years in 2024 and 2025.
