(KNOX) – The Grand Forks-East Grand Forks Metropolitan Planning Organization is looking to the future to what the greater Grand Forks area’s population may be in 30 years and how that would impact traffic and transportation.
The Grand Forks Committee of the Whole gave initial approval to a projected 0.8 percent annual growth rate for Grand Forks.
That number will be used by the Metropolitan Planning Organization to finish a transportation plan. The plan will look at possible transportation needs, infrastructure projects, safety improvements and overall transportation from 2025 to 2055.
Population and job growth projections are needed to complete the traffic demand model used for the plan.
