Polk County Sheriff to Retire

(KNOX) – Polk County Sheriff, Jim Tadman said that he will not seek re-election and plans to retire at the end of his current term in January 2027.

His retirement will conclude a 38-year career with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, including seven years as sheriff.

His career path included serving undercover for the Polk/Norman County Drug Task Force, followed by roles as a patrol deputy, investigator, K9 handler, and training instructor.

Tadman also served as a SWAT team member, sniper, investigations sergeant, and chief deputy before becoming sheriff.
