(KNOX) – The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality requests public input on your water quality concerns.

The Watershed Management Program has developed a ten-year Prioritization Strategy (2022-2032) for addressing surface water quality issues such as excess bacteria (E. coli), nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus), and sediment that may impact recreation and other beneficial uses of lakes and streams. The Department of Environmental Quality updates a list of priority waterbodies to help structure planning and water quality assessments every two years.

North Dakotans know their watersheds best. The Department of Environmental Quality wants to know: What are your water quality priorities? What water bodies do you want to see improved or protected? What concerns do you have for future water quality and watershed health where you live, work, and play?

Help North Dakota plan for the next two years by completing a short survey by clicking here.
