(KNOX) – Tuesday morning the Grand Forks Police Department investigated an accident on the Columbia Road Overpass.

Initial examination of the crash determined that a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country Van was north bound on the overpass when it lost control on the ice and swerved into oncoming, southbound traffic.

The van then struck a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder, both of which were southbound on the Columbia Road overpass.

As a result of the crash, three individuals were evaluated on scene by Altru paramedics but were not transported.

The bridge was closed down to only one lane for approximately forty minutes as crews worked to remove the damaged vehicles and add sand to the slippery bridge surface.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact the Grand Forks Police Department. Call 701-787-8000. Submit a tip via the GFPD’s Facebook page or website. Submit a tip via the Tip411 app.
