(KNOX) – A Grand Forks man and a woman are facing multiple felony charges after allegedly pistol-whipping a victim and stealing cash and a hat.
Jay’lon Bowman, 21, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon and terrorizing with a dangerous weapon following the incident at the Link housing complex. Zariah Milton, 21, was charged as an accomplice to robbery with a dangerous weapon and accomplice to aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
According to legal records Grand Forks police responded to a weapons-related call at the Link. Officers found a victim in the main lobby bleeding from the back of the head with a visible laceration. The victim told police a man wearing all black struck them multiple times on the back of the head with a handgun near a stairway between Oak Manor Apartments and the Link. The man was accompanied by a woman.
After the assault, the suspect allegedly stole approximately $300 in cash and a $60 purple baseball cap from the victim. Officers later observed the suspect wearing the hat in hallway surveillance footage.
Police located and arrested Bowman and seized a handgun. Bowman admitted to striking the victim with the handgun.
