(KNOX) – A home was total loss this week after a fire in East Grand Forks.
The fire was called in by neighbors to 920 2nd Avenue Northeast after 11 Wednesday night.
The homeowner wasn’t at home at the time but three dogs were rescued.
Fire crews were on scene for several hours to put out hot spots in the crawl space.
The East Grand Forks Fire Department said it is still unknown what caused the fire but it did start in the basement near the furnace.
The one person who lived there is now staying with family.
