(KNOX) – The city of Thompson could be patrolled by a Grand Forks County sheriff’s deputy. That is if a contract between the city and Grand Forks County is passed by the Thompson City Council at their meeting on January 5th.
After Thompson’s former police chief accepted a job with the University of North Dakota Police Department in October, the Thompson mayor said that the city searched for other avenues to bring on a new police officer.
The city is now considering a contract with the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office.
