Grand Forks Police Respond to Washington Street

(KNOX) – Wednesday evening an individual entered Discontent 1429 South Washington Street holding an envelope and wearing sunglasses, a green and white sweatshirt, and a mask covering their face.

The person appeared to be Caucasian and is believed to be male based on his voice during the encounter with the employee.

The person handed the employee an envelope containing a note demanding money and indicating that the subject was armed.

The individual left the establishment a few moments after presenting the note to the clerk and fled the scene without obtaining any money. The Grand Forks Police Department immediately established a perimeter in the area and deployed both drone and K-9 assets in an attempt to locate the suspect, who fled eastbound from the store. The suspect was ultimately not located.
