Grand Forks County Submits Railroad Crossings to The State

(KNOX) – Railroad crossings in Grand Forks County have been submitted to the North Dakota Department of Transportation for the matter of improvements to safety.

The three crossings are located just west of the City of Grand Forks in Brenna Township.

Brenna Township officials hope the suggestions will reduce the risk of potential accidents. Grand Forks County submitted the crossings with the possibility of receiving federal funds to improve safety. Township officials said that their importance is the crossing at 47th Avenue South, just west of Interstate 29.

The state Department of Transportation will decide how project costs will be split between federal funding and local shares. Some projects could get 100 percent of federal funds for the plan.
