Altru Nurse Recognized

(KNOX) – Altru is proud to recognize Paige Carlson, a registered nurse at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks as the latest recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Paige was nominated by one of her patients for the exceptional care and compassion she provided during their recovery from a stroke.

In the heartfelt nomination, the patient shared, “From the moment she entered my room, she brought a bright, yet calming, presence that helped ease my fears. She spoke to me with such kindness, always explaining what was happening and listening patiently when I had questions or concerns. She never made me feel rushed or like I was a burden.”

The patient went on to say, “What stood out most about her was her genuine compassion. She didn’t just care for me, she cared about me. It was clear that nursing is more than a job to her; it’s a calling. Her warmth, professionalism, kindness, and dedication made a lasting impact not only on me and my family but on my spirit.”
