(KNOX) – Visit Greater Grand Forks would like to have a loan forgiven from Grand Forks City Council.
The loan was first issued in 2020 for $150,000 with zero percent interest and was meant to supplement their cash flow during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Committee Member Rebecca Osowski is against the forgiveness.
“Work with Greater Grand Forks to see if we can’t make things more manageable for them,” Osowski said. “If they have the ability to, they should hold to their promise to the Grand Forks taxpayer and pay back.”
The Grand Forks Committee of the Whole gave early approval for forgiveness of the loan, with member Osowski a no vote.
