Nothing New in The Case of Missing Money From the Grand Forks School District

(KNOX) – Nothing new on the over $842,000 remaining that was taken from the Grand Forks School District accounts after a phishing scam last year.

There is an ongoing investigation by the Grand Forks Police Department, the district officially recorded the missing funds as a loss when the books were settled in June of last year.

Law enforcement has told the Grand Forks School District that the case could remain open and under investigation for years.

In September of last year the district said it lost $2.2 million in what turned out to be a scam.

So far it was revealed that $1.3 million had been recovered, leaving the Grand Forks School District with a loss of over $842,000. There have been no updates since that time.
