(KNOX) – Officers from the Grand Forks Police Department Street Crimes unit learned that a male subject with outstanding arrest warrants was in a room at the Ramada Inn hotel.

A search warrant was obtained.

SWAT team and Grand Forks Regional Crisis Negotiations team were each activated to assist with resolution of the incident, as it was believed that one of the occupants was armed with a firearm. Prior to their arrival, officers were able to talk with the occupants of the hotel room on the telephone, and ultimately able to convince them to surrender.

Taken into custody were Jordan Groninger, a 35-year-old Fargo resident for a probation revocation warrant out of Ward County. Skye Larson, a 21-year-old resident of Grand Forks was wanted on warrants out of Grand Forks County.

A less-lethal impact munition was fired at the glass door of the hotel room for tactical reasons. Nobody was injured during the warrant service; however, several guests were temporarily asked to evacuate their rooms for safety reason.

Further criminal charges will be considered pending complete results of this investigation.
