(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Air Force Base will be the Point Defense Battle Lab for the Air Force’s Air Combat Command to develop counter Unmanned Ariel Systems (UAS) Summit and Expo being held today and tomorrow at the Alerus Center.
The lab will quiz, improve and seek out organizations with new methods that can help with counteracting UAS. It takes the network developed at the Grand Forks Airforce Base, GrandSky and others, then crosses it with the military.
According to the military it is a change of how they operate. In the past, the military would put in production orders, start to develop and then build the system.
The company AeroVironment will work with GrandSky on a radar system.
