(KNOX) – A suspension in planned construction at the intersection in front the Grand Forks International Airport was before the Grand Forks County Commission this week.
Grand Forks County Commissioners heard that project was not included in the 2027 construction plan for the Grand Forks-East Grand Forks Transportation Infrastructure Plan.
The proposed project would replace the current intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Airport Drive with a diamond interchange, it is meant to make the intersection safer. The intersection was ranked at number 11 out of 25 on North Dakota’s Rural Spot High Crash Location list.
Grand Forks County has plans to request a meeting with the North Dakota Department of Transportation to see why the project is not advancing.
