(KNOX) – Sunday afternoon Grand Forks Police responded to the intersection of South Washington Street and Demers Avenue for a two-vehicle accident with injuries.
Initial investigation of the crash determined that a 2005 Ford Taurus driven by a 69- year-old male was going eastbound on Demers Avenue when the Taurus struck a 2013 Dodge Journey being driven by a 78-year-old female.
The impact caused the Dodge Journey to roll over in the intersection. The female was trapped in the vehicle but was extracted by the Grand Forks Fire Department. The female was taken to Altru by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were later towed from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Grand Forks Police Department and no citations have been issued at this time.
Traffic was impacted for approximately 90 minutes while the crash was under investigation.
The Grand Forks Police Department was assisted at the scene by Grand Forks Fire Department and Altru ambulance.
