(KNOX) – Lieutenant Jenna Clawson Huibregtse, Commander of the Safety and Education Division and Public Information Officer has been honored as a “40 Under 40” award recipient by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP.) The award recognizes 40 international police professionals under the age of 40 who exemplify leadership, dedication,and innovation in law enforcement.
Lt. Clawson Huibregtse joined the Highway Patrol in May 2015, beginning her career as a traffic trooper in New Salem. In 2018, she was appointed as the agency’s Cultural Liaison Officer—a first of its kind position within a state law enforcement agency in the United States. In this role, she played a vital part in strengthening relationships between law enforcement and tribal nations, resulting in mutual aid agreements between the state and tribal nations.
She was promoted to Sergeant and served as the agency’s Planning Officer from 2021 to 2023.
Lt. Clawson Huibregtse holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from North Dakota State University.
