Football Roundup: Knights Win Big, Riders Tip Saints, EGF Falls by Inches

(KNOX) – Grand Forks Central moved to 2-0 with an impressive 39-7 win at Jamestown Friday night.

Anton Perales had two rushing touchdowns, Naz Fisher had a rushing score, Trey Clauson hauled in a 57-yard touchdown pass from Brody Leddige, and Zade Martin ran back an interception 85 yards for a score.  Carson Kotrba capped the scoring with a 33-yard touchdown run.

Red River survived a battle at Bismarck St. Mary’s, winning 14-13.

Both teams missed a point-after try during the game.  Red River hit a two-point conversion to take a 14-7 lead, and St. Mary’s missed a PAT in the fourth quarter for the final difference.

Noah Brandvold had a rushing touchdown, and Matt Dosch added another, with Dosch hitting Max Mannausau for the game-winning two-point conversion.

East Grand Forks was turned away near the goal line, stopping a drive and preserving a Perham 14-7 win over the Greenwave at Senior High in East Grand Forks Friday.

Cole Schmiedeberg rushed for 95 yards and the Wave’s lone score in the matchup.

Ada-Borup/West defeated Polk County West 35-15 Friday night.  Thompson topped TMCHS 52-0 Friday, and Kittson County Central knocked off Stephen-Argyle 26-24.  Fosston dominated in a 38-0 win over Warren-Alvarado-Oslo.
