(KNOX) – A Grand Forks woman allegedly distributed fentanyl to other inmates at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
Court records said that Megan Thorsen, 31, is facing Class A felony delivery of a controlled substance inside a correctional facility. The records said that a correctional officers at the jail observed Thorsen sitting at the phone, seemingly nodding off and under the influence of a controlled substance. Two additional women appeared to be under the influence, as they were also observed nodding off.
They later allegedly admitted to using fentanyl. A shakedown of the pod at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center was ordered. A correctional officer say that they found a Ziploc sandwich baggie inside Thorsen’s bra that was approximately just under one-quarter full of a white/gray powder, according to the records.
Thorsen already had her initial court appearance. Her next court appearance is scheduled for October 6th.
