(KNOX) – A Grand Forks man was arrested for aggravated assault, and resisting arrest after a dispute with his alleged girlfriend.
Police were dispatched to a location after reports of a woman getting beaten by a man. Upon arrival, authorities saw the victim crying.
Grand Forks Police spoke with the victim stating that her boyfriend, Rene Saenz Jr., had slapped and punched her in the face multiple times. The victim and a friend had returned to the victim’s address with Saenz Jr. already at the address and began yelling at the two.
The victim added that Saenz Jr. had drank a pint of vodka. Saenz Jr. would leave his seat and assaulted the victim pushing her head down to her chest making it hard to breathe according to court documents.
Saenz Jr. admitted to Grand Forks Police that he had slapped the victim twice.
