(KNOX) – At approximately 9:17 Monday morning the Grand Forks Fire Department responded to 1016 Cherry Street for a report of a structure fire.
Fire crews arrived on the scene and found smoke and fire showing from the detached garage in the rear of the residence.
The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters. Further investigation revealed that a fire had occurred in the southeast corner of the structure but the cause was not determined and deemed accidental.
Fire and smoke damage was contained to the garage and its contents.
The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, one truck and a command vehicle with 21 personnel. No responders or occupants were injured during the incident.
The fire department was assisted by Altru, Grand Forks Police Department, and Xcel Energy.
