(North Dakota Monitor) – Twelve additional cases of West Nile virus were reported in North Dakota over the past week bringing the total human cases to 26 according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
Of theĀ 26 total cases, 11 people have been hospitalized and nine of those cases suffered nervous system complications, the department said in a news release.
The cases are spread across 13 counties: Cass, Burleigh, Divide, Hettinger, Kidder, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Pembina, Richland, Stark, Stutsman, Walsh and Williams counties.
Cass County reported 11 cases of West Nile, the most in the state, followed by Burleigh County with three. Other counties reported one case each.
