Highway Patrol Investigates Grand Forks County Crash

(KNOX) – According to the highway patrol a Nissan Juke was traveling eastbound on North Dakota Highway 15 in Grand Forks County near mile marker 122.

The Nissan driver, a 50-year-old woman from Hatton, was following an eastbound Peterbilt semi that was turning right onto County Road 13, 22nd Street North East. The driver of the Nissan attempted to avoid the turning semi by steering to the right. The Nissan left the roadway, overcorrected to the left, and struck the trailer of the Peterbilt

The driver of the Nissan was not wearing a seat belt and was transported by ambulance to Altru Hospital, Grand Forks with serious injuries.

The driver of the Peterbilt was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
