(KNOX) – According to court documents a Grand Forks man will serve eight years for methamphetamine crimes.
The records said that 39-year-old Ernest Farmer sold 2 ounces of methamphetamine to an undercover officer and possessed additional drugs and paraphernalia in his home where there were young children.
Farmer pleaded guilty to a Class A felony delivery of at least 50 grams of methamphetamine.
He gave Alford pleas to three more charges. An Alford plea is when the defendant maintains their innocence but acknowledges there’s enough evidence that they would likely be convicted if the case goes to trial.
Farmer has credit for 182 days served. After his release he will be on supervised probation for three years.
If he violates any probation conditions Farmer will be at risk of serving the remaining 12 years of his sentence.
