(KNOX) – The University of North Dakota will be conducting a long-range drone flight that aims to demonstrate how the technology could connect rural areas of the state.

The flight is scheduled for 9 A.M. on Thursday, July 24.

An iSight drone operated on the Vantis network will take off from Williston and fly to Watford City.

This is a part of Project Rural Reach. Which shows how unmanned craft can transport things like medical supplies to more isolated areas.

The flight is expected to take about an hour.
